After brain injury - the essential toolkit for families

The course will offer families and carers the opportunity to learn more about brain injury and the associated consequences and difficulties.

delivered via Zoom

Six sessions – 1.5 hours once a week

Led by a member of the specialist Reablement Team, the weekly sessions consider common challenges faced by families and carers when brain injury has brought changes into their lives.

Family and carers are so important and need their own space and time to deal with the effects of being with and caring for someone with a brain injury.

Peer support and lived experience, coupled with Reablement Team advice, can help family and carers cope and have a better understanding of brain injury.

About the course

The course will offer families and carers the opportunity to learn more about the brain, the consequences and impairments associated with brain injury, e.g. memory, concentration, and emotional and behavioural difficulties.  As well as practical advice, there is plenty of time for carers to discuss issues, ask questions and share experiences.
