About us – 40 years and counting
Set-up in 1985, Headway Surrey is here to support adults who live in Surrey, and are over 18, who have been affected by a brain injury.
We are the only charity in the County that specialises in raising awareness of, and providing support to, people impacted by acquired brain injury.
Our aim is to enable those with brain injury to understand their brain injury and become independent and lead a meaningful life, which hopefully includes returning to work, attaining new work or volunteering.
Although Headway Surrey is affiliated to Headway UK the brain injury association, we do not receive funding from here and are financially independent. If services are required outside of Surrey, contact Headway UK www.headway.org.uk to find your nearest branch.
We operate from a ground floor custom built, fully accessible Reablement Centre in North Road, Guildford. It is eco-friendly (producing solar energy) and the money saved on energy goes back into our services!
The Centre is comfortable, light and airy, and provides us with an excellent working environment providing a safe space, training and study work area, a confidential quiet room, a kitchen, a garden, and admin offices.
