Jo started at Headway Surrey as a volunteer in February 2018, becoming a paid member of staff in April 2018. She lives in Surrey.
She specialises in planning and providing group and 1:1 Brain Injury Education sessions which combine information, strategies and activities to address cognitive impairment.
She pioneered visits into HMP Send as part of our community outreach, where we were supporting a prisoner with brain injury.
Jo holds the nationally recognised specialist Certificate in Brain Injury Studies from Northampton University and Headway UK. She has a degree in Education, specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEN); she was a SEN Coordinator during her primary teaching career. Then whilst raising her family, Jo worked as Learning Support in primary schools and was a Governor for 7 years while living in Woking.
